Beth Rubens
Beth Rubens, soprano, received her Masters of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French literature from Vassar College and studied French literature at the Universite de Paris, La Sorbonne. She was a scholarship recipient to the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute, the Operafestival di Roa, and the Marin Opera Academy.
She has studied with Jane Randolph of Oakland, California, Joan Patenaude-Yarnell, New York city, and Pamila Fry and James Toland of San Francisco. Gillian Cookson, pianist, is her coach in Washington, DC.
She has appeared in numerous operas as well as in musical theater in California, New York and Washington. Her most recent appearance was in the InSeries production of Orpheus in the Underworld in February 2009.
